What's the difference between Huddle Up Projects that are Public or Private?
Huddle Up Projects come in two forms:
Private Projectsallow Project Leaders to invite specific users. Private Projects typically involve participants from the same organization.
Public Projects are open for users around the world to join.
What makes the Huddle Up so different? How does it help teams collaborate, learn and take action together?
Most online courses (learning experiences) today focus on "passive learning" where users demonstrate their understanding and comprehension. This is usually done through videos and quizzes. Learners typically progress through the learning experience in isolation and may earn a badge upon completion.
Often times, teams collaborate on Zoom meetings to talk about their learning.
The Huddle Up platform is focused on the application (action) of learning and leverages the ASYNCHRONOUS collaboration between the trainings - when people have the time and space to share their best applications and peer feedback. We believe that's a better goal for 'learning' than comprehension-based quizzes.
Huddle Up projects can contain all the elements of a typical LMS course. However, the goal of Huddle Up projects is for learners to share their application of learning (the solutions, products or practices) so that we can learn from each other's ideas and feedback.
That's how we help teams collaborate, learn, and take action together - and learn from each other along the way.
What does it mean when we say "the best learning happens inbetween the trainings?"
We believe that sweet spot of learning is not in the delivery of content (the class, the workshop, or the Zoom session) nor is it in passing a quiz. The challenging part of learning happens when we try to apply the learning back in our context. That's why we say the best learning happens between the trainings - when we try to apply what we've learned.
Is it true that Huddle Up Public Projects don't cost anything to create and run my own project?
Correct. There is no risk to Project Leaders. They can set the dates of the project, the cost, and the minimum number of users to ensure a project will run. Potential Project Leaders can learn more information by emailing [email protected]
How much can I customize the Projects I lead?
Project Leaders can customize:
- the dates of the project
- the cost of the project per participant
- the minimum and maximum number of learners (The Project will not run without the minimum number.)
- adding any learning resource (video, PDF, links, text, etc.)
- adding any actionable learning tasks: Open Response (with text, video, attachments), Quiz or Survey
- adding any Huddle to allow learners to share quantitative and qualitative peer feedback to each other
- At any point, Leaders can clone the experience (and edit as needed) for future use.
What are some use cases? What are some of the common ways innovators are using the Huddle Up Public platform to connect, engage and build a Learning Community?
Some of the typical use cases for the Public version of Huddle Up include:
1) extending an existing self-paced course into an action-based collaboration for participants who wish to join.
2) extending a weekend workshop or webinar to help learners take collaborative action.
3) connecting current users in action research (to test and share ideas, new applications / features).
4) to connect potential clients in a collaborative experience in order to build relationships and demonstrate value.
Huddle Up is content agnostic and a flexible platform. We can't wait to hear your ideas.
What happens if a Huddle Up Public Project does not receive enough registrations to run? Will I get a refund?
Yes. All participants will receive a full refund if a project does not run due to limited registrations.
Participants will also receive a full refund for any cancellation which occurs 30 days prior to the registration date. Cancellations must be made to [email protected]and via email to the Projecct Leader.
